Today was my first day in Mrs. Ryders class sixth grade class. When I got there, I got there in the middle of one class and ended with the beginning of another. The students were testing today, so it was very quiet and mellow for the first day. In the first class I was with there were only about 15 students, compared to her next one which had more but it was more diverse. There were many different types of students with many different learning abilities in this class. I am very excited to get to work with them so then I have some experience with students with many different learning abilities. There were also co-teachers in the last class, whom I got to meet. I think that it pretty interesting. I was not as surprised when I went in there and heard about the variety of students because I went in with an open mind. There were some students who I recognized just from my neighborhood or coaching through field hockey, which also was pretty cool. At the end of the one class and beginning of the next, she introduced me and opened up the floor to the students to be able to tell me anything about themselves, which made me feel very welcomed in the class. I really enjoyed going there and cannot wait to spend my time there with them.
